If you want to own a poodle, you must be willing to learn the necessary grooming. You have to buy the necessary equipment to keep fur tangle-free and well-groomed. Even if you chooses to have your dog groomed by a dog groomer, daily care must be taken care of. When we have puppies, they are shaved for the first time on their noses and paws when they are 3 weeks old. They are shaven 2 more times before they go to their new homes (8-10 weeks). The same applies to washing, hair drying and cutting. This is how the puppy gets used to being handled and the new owners must follow up on this habituation. Bathe/dry the puppy every week and shave the paws and muzzle every 2-3 weeks in the beginning. Eventually, it is enough to shave about once a month, or when there is too much beard. We are helpful with training if desired and offer free clips for the first year.
